Opening the database file

During the loading process the program attempts to open the last used database. It is always possible to open any other existing database using the [File|Open…] menu command. The same action is invoked by the corresponding toolbar button. The database file full name, including the drive and path, is displayed as the title of the main window. When the program is used for the first time it does not load a database when started. This may also happen when the program is not able to restore the last used link, e.g. when the file and/or folders have been renamed or deleted or when a storage device is not accessible (diskette removed, network not operating etc.).

On exit the program stores the recently used database name in the Windows registry. It also keeps list of up to ten recently used database files. The list can be accessed through [File] menu for fast database switching.
