Similarly to the case of the Laplace DLTS measurement, a user is
advised to try to run the conventional DLTS routine in order to see limitations
of the numerical analyses. On the Simulation tab one can set parameters of three
defects and according to standard formulae calculate the result transient for a
given temperature and subject it to the numerical analysis like in a real
measurement. It is important to see the effect of noise and the transient length
on the numerical methods’ efficiency. The simulation is run just like a normal
measurement with the Simulation button pressed (the icon is temporary). The
simulation procedure can be used with all three conventional DLTS measurement
modes. This button is always pressed if the hardware is not initialised.
