3.4.1 Viewing and editing the script file

The currently highlighted file in both lists can be inspected by pressing the View button in the toolbar above corresponding list. The currently highlighted file in the Scripts available list can be also edited when its name is double-clicked or the Edit button is pressed. This simple editor allows changing some of the measurement parameters, however, in the current version only limited checking of the parameters validity is available. Consequently, for the time being it is a user responsibility, if this simple editor is used, to put rational parameters which would not crash the system.

The script file editor allows automatisation of the process of preparation of the script file set. It is advised to prepare carefully the first file in the set by setting up all the measurement parameters in the main program and then save this file using the Save for Script <name> or Save for Script As...  commands from the Configuration menu. Then open this file in the Script window using the script editor. If this set of measurements needs special temperature stabilisation criteria, then define them (see the following chapter for details) and resave this file. Finally, put the increment/decrement value for the given parameter (e.g. the pulse 1 voltage) and check both check boxes by the Data Name and Script file name text boxes. Checking these two boxes allows adding to the both names an index which is incremented in subsequent files together with the measurement parameter. The starting index can be modified by corresponding spin buttons. In the upper right text boxes one sees the current names of the Data file and the Script file. Pressing the Increment/Decrement and Save button as many times as necessary produces a set of script files with names and the Data file names with a running index added and the measurement parameter modified as needed.
