All result and spectral files are ASCII text files. They always consist of a header containing general and experimental parameters followed by the Experiment data or results of the data analysis. The header has a structure which complies with the Windows configuration file standard. Experimental parameters in the header are gathered in sections each having a name in square brackets, e.g. [sample]. Individual entries have the structure: entry_name=value. The data files always contain the section [general] having the information about the system version, hardware used for the measurements, date, time, user, file name, etc. The section [sample] contains the material and sample identification, and other sample parameters. The experimental parameters used by the ExpDBase program are taken from the [parameters] section, however, in the file header there could be also other sections where there is additional information about the experiment not used by the ExpDBase program.
