The
most recently measured data can be stored in the current data path with the
"data_tmp.iso" name provided this action is enabled on the Customise form. This
temporary data file is not recorded in the Data base and should be regarded only
as an emergency back up. Only when the data is saved via the Save As...
procedure in the File menu or via the appropriate button on the Main toolbar its
name and parameters are stored in the Data base. If the data file is not stored
in the Data base its corresponding spectra files are not recorded in the Data
base either. When the data file is being stored the default name defined in the
Name text box on the Sample/Details folder is proposed. This name can be
changed, however, in this case, the user has to remember to give the
corresponding name to the files sent for calculations, otherwise the File in
the Data base does not exist error will occur.
The data saving action can be customised on the Customise form/Files tab. The Save As... dialogue and the corresponding button on the Main toolbar can be replaced by the direct saving action where the name is taken from the Name text box on the Sample folder. If the File in the Data base exist warning is disabled then any data already existing in the current data base with the same name is overwritten. This option works independently of the File (on the disk) exists warning which is provided by the Windows environment.
IMPORTANT: Only the points currently displayed on the Main Graph are saved. Do not save the data file when the transient is zoomed. This note does not apply to the action when the beginning of the transient is removed and the useful part of the transient is unzoomed.
On the Customise form there is a check box (the Store beginning check box on the Other folder) which, when checked, enables storing the beginning of the transient to the data file, although this initial part has been graphically removed.
